The centres are accessible to all who need advice, support and help after a diagnosis of cancer; or those who have been living with the disease and its treatment and who seek further help to manage the way they are dealing with this. The centres are usually existing clinics for complimentary or integrated therapies, or they may be individual therapists. All the therapists are well qualified in their discipline and carry professional indenmity insurance.
The centre is also a web site – this one – a virtual centre which allows you to access literature, information, contacts, research the options, talk to others, obtain useful supplements, find out about therapies available, find out about conventional treatment and its effects. You can also share your story with others.
Clients can find out where actual centres are located from the web site and these are also the focus of finding information and finding therapists if needed.
The centres can offer advice on things like diet, supplements and supportive therapies. The advisors are also practitioners in either orthodox or complimentary therapies. All suppliers of suggested supplements are well known established companies who all subscribe to the mission of The Golden Centre.
There will also be advice on which conventional treatment are used and the web site also has links across to helpful information here, which others have found useful.
Clients can make a choice of what they feel may help them. They would enter into a client/ therapist relationship agreeable to both parties, not necessarily with the advisor they first met. Therapists are trained in giving this advice and the principles of The Golden Centre.
Therapies available are offered at discounted rates for cancer sufferers and survivors and there is a common fund you can apply for, because we believe that help should be available to all.
Centres are connected in that they share the same mission, but are free to operate unilaterally. The only thing they must do is adhere to the founding principles.
The Golden Centre is non-profit making, but therapists who go on to treat clients as a result of referrals will be operating as they would with any client, except that the scale of charges will be less than their usual rate or they may offer other concessions.
